Rent pro storage.
Keep your data forever.
Hard drives cost 2–3× what they did a year ago. Rent pro-grade USB4 / Thunderbolt storage for the length of your project instead of buying outright — a better fit when you don't need the drive long-term. Every 30- or 90-day rental adds 90 days of free 1TB AvastorX Cloud — rentals stack, up to 3 years total. Archive the finished work, send the drive back, and your footage stays with you in the cloud. After the free period, AvastorX continues at $8/month unless you cancel.

How it works
Three steps. Zero stranded data.
Rent the drive for your project
Pick the capacity and speed your shoot or edit needs — portable SSD or desktop HDD — for 7, 30, or 90 days. It ships to your door ready to work.
Work, then archive to AvastorX Cloud
Cut, color, and deliver at full USB4 / Thunderbolt speed. When the project wraps, archive it to AvastorX Cloud so nothing is ever stranded on hardware. Every 30- or 90-day rental adds 90 days of free 1TB storage — stackable up to 3 years — then continues at $8/month unless you cancel.
Send the drive back — your data lives on
Drop the drive in the prepaid return box. The hardware goes home; your archive stays safe in the cloud, ready to restore whenever the next version, re-cut, or re-license comes calling.
Pricing
Rent by the project.
Flat rates for 7, 30, and 90-day terms. The 90-day term is the best per-day value for long edits and finishing.

Every 30- or 90-day rental includes 90 days of free 1TB AvastorX Cloud — whichever term you pick. Each qualifying rental adds another 90 days, stacking up to 3 years in total; 7-day rentals don't qualify. Archive your project during the rental — when the drive goes back, your data stays with you in the cloud. After the free period, AvastorX continues at $8/month for 1TB unless you cancel.
All prices in USD. The rental fee is charged at checkout; a separate refundable hold for the drive's replacement value is placed on the same card and released on return — see the FAQ.
The Oyen advantage
The only rental that owns the whole chain.
We make the whole stack
The only rental service where one company builds both the drive and the cloud (AvastorX). One vendor, end to end — no finger-pointing when it matters.
Pro-grade speed
USB4 and Thunderbolt hardware built for real post-production — sustained throughput up to 80Gbps so 8K, multicam, and RAW timelines play back without proxies.
Your data survives the return
The drive is temporary; your work isn't. Archive to AvastorX Cloud before it ships back and restore any project on demand — long after the hardware is gone.
Free replacement if a drive fails
We monitor drive health the whole rental. If a unit fails in the field, we ship a replacement free — your project keeps moving and your data stays protected.
How does the deposit work? +
Two separate things happen to your card at checkout. The rental fee — the flat rate for the drive and term you picked — is charged right away. The deposit is not: it's a pre-authorization hold for the drive's full replacement value, placed on the same card straight after payment. A hold is an authorization, not a charge, so nothing leaves your account. It may show as pending on your statement while the drive is out. When the drive comes back in good working condition we release the hold in full; your bank can take a few business days to clear it. You'll see the exact hold amount — for example "Deposit hold: $969" — before you pay.
How do returns work? +
Every rental ships with a prepaid return label and reusable packaging. When your term ends, seal the drive back in the box, drop it with the carrier, and you're done. We recommend archiving to AvastorX Cloud before it goes out so your project is safe the moment the hardware leaves your desk.
What are the late and damage policies? +
Need more time? Extend your term before it ends and you'll just pay the difference to the longer rate. Drives kept past the term without an extension accrue a daily late fee, capped at the drive's replacement value; past 7 days overdue the drive is treated as unreturned and the replacement value is charged. Normal wear is expected and never charged — damage beyond it (bent connectors, drops, liquid) is captured from the deposit hold, and whatever isn't needed is released. The full terms are in the Rental Agreement.
How do I actually rent one? +
It's self-service. Pick a category, capacity, and term, accept the Rental Agreement, and check out through Stripe — we never see your card number. We're notified the moment payment clears, pick the unit off the shelf, and ship it with a prepaid return label. US shipping addresses only for now.
What is the AvastorX handoff? +
Every 30- or 90-day rental includes 90 days of free 1TB AvastorX Cloud — the same 90 days whichever of those terms you pick (7-day rentals don't qualify). Rent again and the free time stacks: each qualifying rental adds another 90 days, up to 3 years in total. Before the drive ships back, archive the finished project to your cloud storage — that copy is yours, independent of the rented hardware. The drive returns to us; your data stays with you in the cloud. When the free period ends, your account continues on AvastorX's paid plan at $8/month for 1TB unless you cancel.
